Cheesecake Factory

After we left DC we went to Baltimore to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. It was Matt's Birthday and that is what he wanted. The food was really good and the cheesecake was even better! Tyson and I shared the Red Velvet Cheesecake. Our meals were pretty big so sharing a piece was just right because I know I could never finish a whole piece! It was so good.... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!!

On our way back I finally got the Welcome to Pennsylvania sign... Well that's what that sign says since you can't really see it!

Washington DC

On Sunday Tyson, Matt, Mandy and I went and walked around DC. We went to the Smithsonian and looked in 2 museums. The first one was the Air and Space Museum. In there they had lots of airplane stuff and space stuff... It was cool to see so many different types of planes and the history behind it.
Bomber plane thingy!

Engine thing that Tyson was looking at!

Solar System

Rockets

Random clothes laying on the lawn. Guess he lost his body...

Capital
So we saw some people doing this thingy and decided to try it out ! We are suppose to be leaning on the building.. But as you can see it doesn't really look so good!
I'm sure people thought we looked really silly!

Archives... Unfortunately we didn't go in there...

We then walked over to the Natural History Museum. This is some of the stuff we saw... We saw Lots more but I don't want to bore you with pictures! ;)

Numbers just kept going up!
First Picture then about 2 seconds later--->

Then we went and walked some more....

Washington DC Temple

During the week we had plans to go to the Temple on Saturday. With all of the drama that happened the day before we didn't know what was really going on but still wanted to go... so we did!!! And I am so grateful we did! The Washington DC Temple so beautiful inside and out. Matt and Mandy came with us so we weren't there by ourselves so that that was fun. I was so amazed at how awesome this temple was. Well they are all awesome but its not the same as the St. George one that I am used to. It was a great new experience.
After going to the temple and walking around we were hungry and decided to go to I HOP. We stayed in a hotel Saturday night so we could go site seeing the next day...
Here are the pictures that we took... Well most of them.
Someone was hungry and in a hurry... And didn't want to take pictures!

But he endured one more... Well two or three more!!!

Leaving the Temple. I'm so thankful we had the opportunity to attend the temple. I am so grateful for the blessing we receive from going to the temple.

Drama

So we almost came home.... We had plans to leave on Tuesday and start heading home but I think we are going to give it another shot...
What happened was the VP of Sales was planning on letting us go (The owner didn't even know this. And the person who recruited Tyson.) but we learned it from someone else. Tyson text the guy to see when he would be in the office so that they could talk about it but this guy didn't want to do that. Long story short the VP of Sales told Tyson he had no value to the company so we were ready to leave... Come on, who wants to work for someone who doesn't even respect you or care enough to talk to your face about an issue...
Tyson called the owner to Thank him for the opportunity and he had no idea why we were leaving. Soon to find out it is because of his VP of Sales... Word around the office is nobody likes the guy either it's not just us now.. We even had no idea this was coming and we rarely even talk to the guy unless it is for business.
Well on our way home (back to the apartment in Marietta) from Washington DC we got talked into staying for a little bit longer... So we are seeing where this is headed...
We are both bummed because we were excited to go back home. But Now its back to work. But if something doesn't happen with this guy we might just be headed home because we will not work for someone who is disrespectful and dishonest.. YES there is a TON of Drama here and it gets very annoying...

Rain Adventure

So the weather here is a little crazy. The past 3 maybe more days it has been raining. When it rains here it really RAINS. It's not like a sprinkle. But... the sales reps went to Erie because of the bad weather so Tyson has not been home since Tuesday but they are coming back tomorrow and I'm so excited to have him back... Well with him being gone I have had to drive to work. Today while driving to work it was POURING rain. Like buckets coming out of the sky!!! It was so scary. I ended up pulling off to the side of the road because I could not see anything. I sat there for probably 5-10 minutes to let it pass by. But definitely one of the scariest things I have had to drive in. Even when I have driven in snow it hasn't ever been that bad. As you can see from the picture that was taken inside the car looking out the front window... You can't see through it... And we had the wind shield wipers going like crazy. I had just turned them off when I took the picture! It was a scary experience!

Sunday 5/15/11

Today for church we had Stake Conference. It was a broadcast one and it was really good. Something I really liked was from Pres. Eyring... He said we needed to be optimistic in pretty much all we do! That is what I need to do with this summer because I am sure I am going to have many down days especially with work. And also with Tyson some days can be hard. So we need to always be positive and know everything has a reason!

After church we went to a BBQ for our work. The food was really good and the hamburgers were really thick and surprisingly they were done all the way through, I was impressed! The BBQ had all the people from the office there.. or they were suppose to be there. So it was nice to meet some other people from the other side of the wall. The summer sales people aren't allowed in the main office so we never know who is over there.

When that was over on our way home there is a look out about a mile or two from our apartment. We went to the look out to see the Susquehanna River. It is SOO Big compared to the little Virgin River that I am used to growing up next to. Also it is really green here. The last two days it has been raining. Except its not really a real rain, its like a mist. But it is really pretty out here! It is so green! River... More like a flowing Lake!

They had a cool Gazebo where we stopped. Tyson had a hard day I guess and needed to sit down! JK!!!
He would not take a good picture!
It is kinda difficult to take a picture with a phone!
The rest of the day we just relaxed. Tyson made brownies and we watched a movie! Oh and did our laundry... Can't break our tradition!

5-14-11

Saturday night Tyson and I went out with Matt and Mandy. We went to dinner at Olive Garden and then later went bowling with all the Techs and the top office guy. It was really fun and nice to get out and do something other then work.

I had 101 and Tyson had 86... This was the second game!

They had a really good deal to play from 10pm-1am for $12 dollars and shoes were included in that. We ended up playing 3 games. By the time we got to the 3rd game we were ready to be done. Out of Tyson and I, Tyson won the first game and I won the 2nd and 3rd. Which is usually how it always works!

First Week

This first week of work has been.... interesting??? I don't know what to call it. It is A LOT of learning and hands on stuff. As of right now there are 5 people in the office doing stuff (or sitting around, just depends on the sales). Then after 5pm we add 2 more people to come help us. Sometimes there isn't really much to do and so it seems point less for them to even come in but they still do...
The beginning of June, 1 other person and myself will move to a different office which will be in Stroudsburg. Sales Reps are also going to be moving... (Lucky us, we get to pack everything up again and we just unpacked!) So we both are trying to learn everything fast so we be on our own and know what we are doing. It will be a little crazy when we move out there, but hopefully we will get by...

On Tyson's end.... He says, "It's the hardest thing I have ever done in my life." He has been knocking by himself for 2 days now and has not had much success, But it will come! (I hope)

So we have to have this badge thing... It lets us in the door. And they are Hideous... Every single person's face is scrunched up! Some are worse then others...But it's embarrassing, so I thought I would share what we have to wear everyday!!! These pictures don't really do justice but just trust me on this one... It's bad!

Other then that our days consist of Work and laying around in the mornings, and falling asleep to watching movies at night!

Random

Just a few random things we have seen while we have been out in Pennsylvania... Well just mostly our shopping trip to good old WALMART!

$4 a gallon Milk- SOOO CRAZY from what we are used to. It's only $2 and something in Utah. Here it's double, and of course we had to buy 2 for Tyson to drink, because I won't drink it unless its with cereal!

Butter- This is so weird to me and I don't know why but... I can't believe its not butter... Well the butter we see in Utah... It's so weird seeing butter in a square package instead of a rectangle one!! And then long cubes... ???
Tortilla's- We usually ALWAYS have tortillas and walmart only had 10 in a package instead of like 24... or whatever it is... We looked all over the isle hoping to find more in a package, but no luck. I was not very happy. And yes we bought 2 packages. We can't just have 10 tortillas we need more then that!
Sorry this post is so random but I find these things weird that on one side of the country is totally different then the other side. Anyway... Whoever reads this I hope you HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! :)

New Home

Holy Cow!!! This apartment is SOOO Nice... Compared to our old one, And IT IS BIG! It is going to be weird having 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom. Of course we probably won't even use but only one. and we have a pretty big living room! Although the kitchen is small (but it will do). And to top it off.... A WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER!!! YAHOO! I'm so excited for that. We didn't have one in our other apartment and always went to Tyson's Parents house. So it will be nice to be able to do laundry whenever we want, and not just on Sunday's!

HOME... For a while...

Living Room
Second BedroomThe Closet is HUGE! Which is great for me!!! Our Bathroom, Which is like a million times bigger than our last one! And we don't have to go to another room for our sink!!!
